I was a L&D and ER nurse for 15 years before I retrained into community-based midwifery. I became a California licensed midwife in 1997.
I have a small private practice, providing maternity care to 10 to 20 families each year.
My services include hour-long prenatal appointments, active labor, birth, and immediate postpartum care in the family’s home, and follow-up postpartum-neonatal office visits at 2 and 6 weeks.
I also provide “Second Nine Month” care, which is hour-long postpartum office visits for new mothers and babies scheduled at 3, 6, and 9 months.
Extended postpartum services at 3, 6 and 9 months are available to all new mothers, whether your baby was delivered in the hospital by an obstetrician or you had planned home birth with another birth attendant. $30 a visit.
